gunnar> Gunnar produce a small range of handbuilt steel frames out of their factory in Waterford, Wisconsin. The build quality on the frames is excellent and the price's even better! Look no further for a quality, mid-priced, handcrafted frame. Gunnar is a sub-division of the premium steel builder Waterford so for your money you are getting a top quality product which makes Gunnar a great way to get your hands on one of the new generation of handbuilt steel frames without breaking the bank. Gunnar use the latest alloys - heat treated air-hardening steels from True Temper and Reynolds - which are several times stronger than steel tubing of old. The heat treating almost doubles the strength of the tubes and it's air hardening qualities make it great for tig-welding by Gunnar's expert welders. These new alloys allow Gunnar to design fatter tubes (34.9 downtube on the OS2 tubeset) with thinner walls resulting in a lighter, more lively ride than possible with traditional cro-moly tubesets. Gunnar have christened this new tubeset the Custom OS2 and it features on all the frames in the line and is shared with many (far more expensive) Waterford models. MADE TO MEASURE All the models come in a wide range of sizes and the geometry should suit the majority of riders. However should you need a made to measure frames this is available at an additional cost of just £200 - not an option you are likely to find on similar priced frames out of Taiwan. As part of the custom service Gunnar provide a frame design and drawing for approval prior to building.
