We have teamed up with the Chalet Antoine in Megeve, France to offer a long weekend of riding over the Bank Holiday weekend at the start of June (1st-4th). Our aim is to give you the opportunity to ride on the quiet Alpine roads in the area and provide a great opportunity for anyone planning on riding any of the big sportive events this summer to get a feel of Alpine climbs (and descents) in a friendly and relaxed atmoshpere. To make life easier we are offering the unique service of taking your bike and kit down to Megeve by road allowing you to have a relaxed journey, simply drop your bike off a couple of days before departure and pick up again when you get back - what could be easier!
Upon arrival on Friday you will be assisted with your bike setup by Mosquito's on site mechanics before rolling out towards the thermal spa town of St.Gervais les Bains. A flat warm up section is followed by a winding descent with stunning Mt Blanc views. We will then ride one of the quieter routes in the area giving a chance to warm the legs up and get used to the altitude.
Post ride snacks will be provided after each excursion and a three course evening meal, tailored to cyclist’s nutritional needs and dietary requirements will ensure you are ready to ride again the next day.
Day two will see a longer ride taking in the famous climb of the Col de la Madeleine, which will feature on this year’s Etape du Tour & Tour de France. This will be a chance to really stretch your legs but make sure you hold a bit back for the Col de Colombiere on day three.
The final day offers the chance to fit in another of the great cols of the region or rest and reflect on the achievements of the trip in Megève’s picturesque surroundings.
The total cost inclusive of bike carriage, transfer from Geneva airport, 3 nights half-board accomodation, post ride snacks and fully supported rides is £550
